I’ve admitted that I’m a beauty product junkie. When it comes to my skin and hair, I’m a pretty picky lady. I was using the same Aveda shampoo for the last two years, until my hair stylist gifted me a travel size of Davines Love shampoo and conditioner for our wedding.
At first I was drawn to the name and the simple packaging. After using it for the last 6 months, I love how it smooths and tames my hair without laying it down. I have pretty thick hair that is prone to major frizziness, and this stuff does wonders for frizz-fighting. And it smells fantastic. What’s not to LOVE?
Olay Regenerist Night Cream
I have a beauty product problem. I blame growing up with a mom who works in a salon and my teenage obsession with both Sassy and Seventeen magazine. (Don’t worry, I’ve now graduated to a Lucky/InStyle obsession.) I’ll stay loyal to a few products, but I usually try something new whenever my tube/jar/container runs out.
My newest product obsession is night cream. I often hear my friends over thirty wax poetic about how they wish they could turn back time and moisturize more often. So I listened. I tried a couple of expensive options, but wasn’t blown away. Then I read a great review for Olay Regenerist Night Cream in one of my magazines and decided to try it out.
The result? Absolutely amazing. I’m slightly obsessed. There was a noticeable difference in the texture of my skin in the morning, and after a few days my skin was downright glowy. I’m now on my second jar of it, and I don’t see myself switching anytime soon.
Now if I could just remember to wash my face and apply it every night…
As I mentioned, I love to try new beauty products. However, I’ve never really been a big fan of any particular face cleanser. I would switch to a new one whenever I ran out, and was never too impressed. My sister-in-law used to work at a medical spa, and she recommended that I speak to one of their consultants for free. Of course, I accepted!
After telling the consultant about my combination skin (dry in most places, but prone to the occasional breakout on my nose/chin), she gave me a sample of dermalogica special cleansing gel. I loved it, and have been using it ever since. The 8oz bottle lasts FOREVER. Seriously, my current bottle is going on its 8th month. The only time I break out is when I fall asleep with my makeup on. If only there were a solution for that.
I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a beauty product junkie. Growing up with a mom who works in a beauty salon will do that to you. As a result, I love to experiment with different recommended potions and feel a thrill of excitement when I buy a new product.
However, there is one product that I’ve been in a pretty serious relationship with for 8 years. I started using Kiehls Ultra facial moisturizer at the recommendation of a college roommate, and I haven’t turned back. Well, I did try to switch once or twice, but immediately saw the error of my ways. (Shh, don’t tell. I feel guilty enough.) A little bit goes a long way, and a 4 oz bottle usually lasts me 5 months.
